Run for the Hills 5K/1-Mile Family Walk

Proudly Sponsored by the Greystone Veterinary Hospital + Urgent Care, join us for the Second Annual Run for the Hills Cross Country 5K and 1-Mile Family Walk. The course will consist of grass, gravel, a short, wooded trail, and occasional all-purpose paved trail opportunities. There will be entertainment during the race, plus food and drink offerings at 12 pm during our Home Days Event (Food trucks, beverages, rides, etc.). We hope to see you there!

Registration and Deadlines:
Registration opens March 1st.

Register by July 10th to guarantee a T-shirt with your registration.
Online Registration Ends: July 18th at 6 pm
In Person Registration:
July 18th from 12 pm to 4 pm at the Seven Hills Recreation Center
July 19th from 7 am to 8:30 am on race day at race check in.
Entry Limitations:
Cross Country 5K: 140 maximum number participants allowed to register for this event.
1-Mile Family Walk: No limit to the number of participants.
Fees:
All Fees (Including weather related cancellations) are Non-Refundable.
5K Fees: $30 per person (Includes a T-shirt, bib with chip timing, and finishers medal.)
1-Mile Walk Family Fees: $40 per family (Includes a finisher medal for all family members.)
T-shirts can be purchased at our store on the registration page at runsignup.com/runforthe7hills.
Eligibility:
5K: We welcome inclusivity in our community, people of all ages and abilities - including walkers!
1 - Mile Family Walk: All Ages
Important Race Day Times (Subject to Change):
7:00 am – Course Open for Race Preview.
7:15 am – Volunteer Meeting.
7:00 to 8:00 am – Check-in, Bib, and Swag Pickup. At pick up you will receive your bib number (5K Runners Only), T-shirt, and other information.
7:30 to 8:30 am – In-Person Registration at the Check-In Table.
8:00 am – Welcome message, race information, and Star-Spangled Banner located at the pavilion by the start line.
8:15 am – 1-Mile Family Walk Starts. Please stay to the right side of the course. Please note you will be passed frequently by the runners.
8:45 am – 5K Race Starts**
**Time is approximate. The race may start sooner than expected.
Timing:
Run The Land will be timing this event (www.runtheland.com).
Bib Chip timing will be used for the 5K. We will do the best we can to get your halfway time split.
The 1-mile family walk will not be timed.
The Course (Subject to Change)*:
5K = Two Red Loops
1-Mile Family Walk = One Green Loop
*Bring diverse types of shoes with you which may be determined by course conditions.
*Review the alternate course plan in case of extreme rain or other course situations.
Volunteers Meeting:
7:15 am at the pavilion.
Volunteers needed for timers, running path safety, water stop, course marshals, etc.

Awards:
There will be an awards ceremony ASAP after the race.
The top female and male finisher will receive awards.
5K awards will be given to the top three finishers by gender in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & over.
Results:
Results will be posted as soon as possible on runsignup.com and sevenhillsohio.org/races.
Running Rules:
5K race bibs should be visible on the FRONT of the runner.
Move to the right if you need to stop or to allow others to pass.
Walkers stay to the right, please.
Water Stations:
There will be one water station midway through the course.
Entertainment:
There will be music throughout the event.
Pre and Post Stretching Service: TBD
Race Food & Drink Options:
Coyne’s Caribbean Coffee (Will be there at 7 am)
Refreshments will be located near the finish line.
We encourage you to attend our Home Days event starting at 12 pm.
First Aid Station
A first-aid station will be in the pavilion.
Parking (Subject to Change):
Parking is available off Hillside Road and Summitview Drive and Hillside Middle School. Please drive slowly.
Weather Emergency/Shelter/Alert System:
In the event of inclement weather, there may be a delay in the start time.
Weather-related postponement will be determined through forecast review.
Emergency shelters are at the city hall building and the recreation center.
Multiple whistle blasts, air horn blasts, an announcement are signals you should proceed to your nearest shelter immediately.
If the weather conditions do not improve by 10 am, the race will be cancelled.
