Matt Trafis is a lifelong Seven Hills resident and was elected to City Council at the age of 29. He is currently serving in his second term as Councilman at Large. Matt is a graduate of Saint Ignatius High School and Capital University in Columbus. He co-owns and manages Blue Streak Strategies, a marketing and advertising firm.
Matt has been very active in the community all of his life. He is an elected board member to the Northeast Ohio City Council Association, member and former Vice President of the Saint Columbkille Holy Name Society, coach and general manager for the Seven Hills Baseball Federation, and has previously served as Chairman of the Seven Hills Home Days Committee. Matt has also received awards from the Parma Education Association as an honorary member and the Polonia Foundation Knight of Pulaski (Polish heritage organization). He is a parishioner of Saint Columbkille and Saint Stanislaus (Slavic Village).
During the current term on City Council, Matt serves as Chairman of the Planning, Zoning, and Economic Development Committee, as a member of the Rules, Ordinances, and Ethics Committee and as a member of the Community Services Committee. In addition, Matt is also the Council liaison to the Zoning Board of Appeals. He is a proponent of open government and has recorded all Committee, Caucus, and Council meetings and posts the audio on his website for our residents to listen to.
