After Jim met his future wife (Doreen) at The University of Akron they decided to move to Seven Hills to start a family. That was 22-years ago. Jim is no stranger to the area. He grew up in Independence and attended St. Michael's and Independence High School, then received a BA in Public Relations from The University of Akron.

Currently, Doreen and Jim are raising two children in Seven Hills and Doreen actively serves as the PTA President of Hillside (current) and Green Valley (previous). Jim has served as the Secretary for the Seven Hills Baseball Federation and also as a coach in youth sports for baseball, softball and football. Jim was responsible for obtaining a $5,000 grant from the Cleveland Indians to help improve the fields at Calvin Park.

Jim is an entrepreneur who owns his own Internet businesses. He has written over ten books on the topics of marketing and entrepreneurship and has spoken in front of thousands all over the world. He believes that good communication is the most important aspect of leadership, and plans on working with residents to keep them well informed and educated about the issues facing the city.
