City Officials

The City of Seven Hills has a Mayor/Council form of government. City Council is responsible for managing the city's finances and the creation of legislation. The seven member council is made up of four ward council members and three members serving in an at-large capacity.


The Mayor

Richard P. Dell'Aquila


Mayor Richard Dell’Aquila has spent most of his life in Seven Hills, born in Cleveland Ohio. His father, Nicholas, was born in Johnstown, PA and married his mother, Mary, in Italy after World War II.

Richard’s dad was an autoworker, very active in the early years of the United Auto Workers. Previously he had some small parts in Hollywood movies. His Mom set annual records for real estate sales before forming her own brokerage, Seven Hills Realty.

His wife, Judy, holds a Ph.D. and is a school administrator. Their daughter, Jessica graduated with honors from Padua and is now a business major at Miami University. Richard and his family have lived in Seven Hills since the early 1960s. He attended Padua Franciscan High School and graduated from Normandy High School.

He has been a practicing attorney since 1978, primarily as a sole practitioner but also working for Cuyahoga Community College and the UAW. His law practice is in Seven Hills, concentrating in civil litigation, probate, trusts and estate planning, real estate, bankruptcy, and business organization.

Richard is a four term Councilman and was the Seven Hills Council President, unanimously elected to that position each time by the other members of Council.
